Herbs, Food and Mood: Strategies for Bipolar Disorder, OCD and Brain Health
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder characterized by periods of depression and elevated mood (mania) at extremes, with periods also including states in which one feels and functions well. Herbal protocols for this condition aim to address each mood state without inducing one or the other. Obsessive compulsive disorder affects one’s quality of life due to being implicated by consistent, long-term anxiety. Herbal and nutritional strategies both in clinical studies and settings will be discussed to address these conditions as well as structural and cognitive brain health supports.
