An Introduction to Gemmotherapy
In this workshop, Victor Cirone introduces participants to gemmotherapy – a lesser-known branch of phytotherapy that uses extracts made from the buds and young shoots of trees and shrubs. Originally developed by Belgian physician Dr. Pol Henry in 1959 (as phytoembryotherapy) and later expanded by French homeopath Dr. Max Tétau, gemmotherapy offers a unique bridge between herbal medicine and homeopathy.
Although still relatively underused and unfamiliar to many practitioners, gemmotherapy is a powerful and elegant healing system. Victor presents it as an accessible modality for both home practitioners and clinicians – one that does not require separate training for herbalists, yet can significantly expand one’s approach to plant medicine.
This workshop will introduce key gemmotherapy remedies that align with this year’s Gathering theme, while also exploring how and why gemmotherapy can be a valuable addition to your clinical practice.
