The Kootenay Herb Gathering acknowledges that our event occurs on the traditional, ancestral and unceded təmxʷulaʔxʷ (homeland) of the Sinixt Peoples. We show our respect for this land and its people by committing to giving back in ways that honour and support the Sinixt.

This year, we invite you to nurture yourself with your herbal community, cultivating fresh inspiration, guidance and heartfelt connection.

Gathering together in the Kootenays, we’ll explore how rooting into the wisdom of the earth can guide us, how rest and restoration are essential for growth, and how renewal sparks creativity, resilience, and action.

This summer, we are resourcing our herbal community, with the herbal wisdom and resolve to carry us forward on the plant path.

Why Come to the Kootenay Herb Gathering?

The Kootenay Herb Gathering began in 2014 in Creston, BC and has has since been held throughout the Region for the past 11 years.

This event marks the 5th Kootenay Herb Gathering, this time set in the heart of the Slocan Valley. Held in an inland temperate rainforest, in one of British Columbia’s most ecologically rich regions, the Slocan Valley is known for its pristine waters, lush forests, and an incredible diversity of medicinal plants, providing an ideal setting for herbalists to connect with the land.

Beyond its breathtaking landscape, the Slocan Valley carries a spirit of resilience, independence, and environmental stewardship. The region has long been a home to off-grid communities, organic farmers, and those dedicated to living in harmony with nature. This deep connection to the land makes the Kootenay Herb Gathering not just an event, but a reflection of the values that define the valley itself—a commitment to sustainability, community, and the enduring relationship between people and plants.
