Join us for an immersive 6-day Intensive on quality control & best herbal processing and manufacturing practices from the field to farmacy. This hands-on, lecture-based training is designed for herbal practitioners, growers, manufacturers, and advanced students looking to deepen their understanding of botanical identification, good manufacturing process standards, quality assessment, and the full herbal supply chain.
What’s Included:
- 38 hours of in-person instruction with leading herbal educators
- Field trips to UBC Herbarium, UBC Farm, and a herbal manufacturing facility
- Lab-based learning at BCIT’s analytical labs
- Guest lectures from regulatory, academic, and industry experts
- Practical training in:
- Botanical ID (macroscopic & microscopic)
- Organoleptics & Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC)
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for herbal products
- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) – a food safety and quality framework
- Sustainable sourcing and supply chain ethics

- Daily schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Zoom sessions included for select guest speakers

- Meals, lodging, and travel to field trips are not included
- Required equipment: Hand lens (10x minimum), Recommended: notebook and writing utensil
