Colleen Emery is a Clinical Herbalist who has been in a client centred, herbal medicine practice for over two decades. Founded in 2003, Colleen owns and operates Emery Herbals, a Compounding Botanical Dispensary, Healing Suites and Teaching Centre in the rural West Kootenay Mountains on the traditional, ancestral, unceded təmxʷulaʔxʷ (homeland) of the Sinixt Peoples. Colleen’s clinical focus is on pediatrics and family wellness with a keen interest in eldercare and complex health conditions. Working together with her associates and student clinicians, Colleen is able to provide reduced barrier access for herbal medicine support; ensuring people are resourced and supported for wellness care. Through live classes and small cohorts, Colleen provides access to both online and onsite, experiential, mentorship-based programming that encourages holistic growth while learning all aspects of herbal medicine from personal enrichment to clinical training. Emery Herbals Compounding Botanical Dispensary offers access to compounding services for practitioners in clinical practice with a diverse inventory of over 300 raw herbs and tinctures with a focus on quality assurance and rigorous sourcing standards. Colleen is an active volunteer in both her home community as well as in the larger herbal community, currently sitting as President of the British Columbia Herbalist’s Association (BCHA), Colleen is the cofounder and producer of the Canadian Herb Conference and co-organizes the Kootenay Herb Gathering and the Vancouver Island Herb Gathering.
