Beverley Gray

Herbalist, Aromatherapist

Beverley Gray is a Canadian herbalist, certified aromatherapist, educator, and founder of Aroma Borealis Herb Shop in Whitehorse, Yukon. With over 30 years of experience in plant medicine, she has built one of northern Canada’s longest-running herb shops. She is the author of The Boreal Herbal: Wild Food and Medicine Plants of the North and A Field Guide to Medicinal Wild Plants of Canada. Her work is grounded in close ecological observation and decades of practical experience in wild harvesting, preparation, and small-scale production. In addition to her herbal training, Beverley is a certified aromatherapist, yoga and meditation teacher, Healing Touch practitioner, and a certified Integrated Transpersonal Therapist trained in Ireland. These disciplines inform her whole-system approach to herbal medicine. Beverley lives in a glacier-carved mountain valley 40 km south of Whitehorse, where she grows, dries, and prepares herbs in relationship with the Boreal forest and subalpine terrain. She also maintains a homestead in County Kerry, Ireland, working with hedgerow and coastal plant traditions. Moving between the northern mountain landscape and the rugged Atlantic coast has deepened her understanding of herbal medicine as place-based, seasonal, and ecologically informed.
