A proud Métis and 2-Spirit person from MNA Region 3, Kalyn is descended from healers, teachers and artists. She lives to reclaim & share Métis traditional medicine, lifeways & cultural arts, and promote understanding & appreciation between cultures. A passionate guide to locals and tourists who wish to learn about the Métis of southern Alberta, Kalyn is a resource on plant food & medicines to the communities of her homeland, and a noted Aapikayahk Sayncheur Flayshii (Métis sash weaver). Kalyn began her career as a Clinical Herbalist 2012. Since then she has run practicum programs, student clinic, and apprenticeship programs for herbalists in Calgary. She is the owner of Kodiak Herbal, and a founding member & current president at the Alberta Herbalists Association. Kalyn is honoured to be a regular visitor at schools, youth and community groups across Southern Alberta, as an Indigenous culture teacher & artist.
