Visionary herbalist and pioneer of traditional herbalism, Marie Provost founded Clef des Champs in 1978. Associated with medicinal herbs for the last 25 years, Marie Provost works at growing, processing and distributing traditional and organic herbal products. She has been involved in every aspect of the herbal medicine and has devoted her time and energy to promote the use of medicinal herbs. Leader of traditional herbalism in Canada, Clef des Champs is a manufacturer of natural health products. The company was founded to meet a growing demand for herbs and herbal extracts of the highest quality. The company has its own farm to produce organically certified raw materials needed to manufacture the extracts. An ambitious infrastructure project started in 2002 with the acquisition of a new land to relocate its agricultural operation. The LEED Gold certified building covers 11,000 square feet and regroups under the same roof all of the manufacturing, storing, R&D, sales, and administration. Founding member of Guilde des Herboristes, the Quebec association of herbalists, Marie served on the board for 11 years before retiring in 2006. Strongly involved in the new Health Canada regulation on Natural Health Products, she sat for 15 years on consulting committees during the development and the implementation of the new Natural Products regulation. A strong believer that the future lies in the collaboration between the science and tradition, she works to establish bridges and promote dialogue. A respected teacher and lecturer, for years she shared with students her deep knowledge of medicinal use of herbs. Her lectures include topics as herbs for everyday uses, menopause, herbal childcare, medicinal gardens, etc. Since her start as a teacher in 1982 she had reached more than 2000 students.
