Robert has been an herbalist for over 50 years, including 20 years of clinical practice, and teaching. He is the author of over 60 books on plant and fungi medicine and an Herbal Elder of Canada. Robert is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms, frequent contributor to Fungi magazine. He latest books, published by Inner Tradition in past year are Medicinal Lichens: Indigenous Knowledge and Modern Pharmacology (Jan 2025); The Fern Pharmacy (Sept 2025) and Moss Medicine (March 2026). He is currently Adjunct Professor at Augustana campus of University of Alberta.
