Sonia Parmar is the Vice-President of Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations at the Canadian Health Food Association, Canada’s largest trade association dedicated to the natural, organic, and wellness industry. She leads national advocacy efforts on behalf of more than 1,200 member companies, advancing policies that support innovation, access, and consumer choice in natural health products, organic and wellness products. As a lead on CHFA’s Save Our Supplements campaign, Sonia has worked closely with Members of Parliament and key decision-makers to highlight the economic and health impacts of overregulation and to champion a balanced, evidence-informed approach to policy. With a background in regulatory policy and government leadership - including senior roles at the Treasury Board Secretariat and Health Canada - Sonia brings extensive experience in shaping legislation, implementing regulatory modernization initiatives, and driving red tape reduction. She is passionate about protecting Canadians’ access to safe, effective, and trusted natural health products while fostering a competitive business environment for the sector.
