Wildfires are the new normal. With hundreds of fires across Turtle Island each year and widespread reduced air quality due to smoke, we all live with wildfires now. As herbalists, what do we have to offer our communities during these unprecedented times?

Rosehip Community Herbs collective formed in August 2025 in response to the Long Lake Wildfire Complex in West Dalhousie, Nova Scotia, Mi’kma’ki. We came together to support our community with free herbs and education.

This workshop will explore the principle of mutual aid, what we have to offer as herbalists, setting up free clinics, crafting safe formulas, and ideas for getting skilled up to support our communities in these times.
