Steve Taylor

Steve Taylor has been practicing as a full time herbalist since 1994, and for eighteen years ran a high street herbal clinic, shop, and dispensary in the U.K. He was a founder member of the Ethnomedica project, a joint initiative of the Royal Botanical Society and the National Institute of Medical Herbalists to record memories from older generations of medicinal plant use in domestic medicine. He has carried out clinical research in the use of fresh herbal poultices in wound healing, and has explored the traditional healing practices of African indigenous healers and herbalists. He uses the therapeutic principles of Galenic humoral medicine in his practice as a herbalist, and is the author of ‘The Humoral Herbal’ (Aeon books) which was published in 2021. He continues to practice as a herbalist, teach and run courses in humoral healing as well as growing herbs to produce many of his own medicines.
