Farm Tour: Floreren Farm’s Herb Gardens
Have you ever wondered how medicinal herbs are grown, tended, harvested, and dried down on an agroecological, small farm, on the East Coast of Canada / Turtle Island?
At Floreren Farm we grow medicinal herbs and nursery nut trees and fruit trees in the sweet earth Centrelea, Nova Scotia, unceded Mi’kma’ki. On 1/2 an acre ilana and Paul grow 40 species of herbs, including Tulsi, Calendula, Mugwort, and Meadowsweet, Raspberry, and Elderberry, using market gardening practices and human-scale tools. We sell fresh and dried herbs directly to individuals and businesses, including clinical herbalists with apothecaries and those who make products.
Join us for a tour to see our garden plots, the tools, and the drying space. We’ll talk about our story and share some details about the whole process of seed to tea.
