Gentle Medicine for Chronic Pain

It’s estimated that 1 in 6 Canadians live with chronic pain or have experienced it in some point in their lives. This is a long term dis-ease that can be caused by a number of different factors, and in addition to it impacting physical health it also greatly impacts mental health. It is increasingly being understood as a neurological disorder because of the changes in the brain and nervous system associated with it over time.

A common experience people with chronic pain have is wanting to ‘get rid’ of it using more intense treatments, rather than approaching it gently and with patience to learn from the communication signals the body is sending.

Simply put, throwing more and more modalities at chronic pain won’t make it go away faster. A holistic, slower, and gentler approach is often the most sustainable and heeds better results long term. This is where certain herbs can be so supportive.

Connecting with nature and working with herbs that gently support the body heal can help in moving out of the ‘pain cycle’.

In this brief yet informative class, you’ll learn about a selection of herbs that can support the whole person in managing their condition when used in conjunction with other treatments and lifestyle adjustments. This class is especially pertinent for those who are ‘highly sensitive people’, and/or neurodivergent and features herbs that are relatively easy to find within Canada
